San Leandro Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Program

Nominations are being accepted for the 2008 Business Excellence Awards to be presented at the Business Excellence Awards Celebration honoring retiring City Manager, John Jermanis.   The San Leandro Chamber of Business Excellence Awards Program recognizes businesses, organizations and individuals in the East Bay who have made notable contributions to the San Leandro Community.

This year the San Leandro Chamber will be presenting three prestigious awards, honoring the Business of the Year, the Business Leader of the Year and the Business Rookie of the Year.

Nomination & Selection Procedures
Only members of the San Leandro Chamber may submit nominations. Self nominations are welcome. The San Leandro Chamber Awards committee will review nominations and select the award winners.

As you are submitting nominations you will be asked to rate your nominees Entrepreneurial Spirit, Ethics and Community Spirit, Economic Development Result, Risk and Difficulty of Business.

Award Categories

Business of the Year
The Business Leader of the Year honors an individual who has made sustained contributions to advance the economic growth in San Leandro. The business would have demonstrated an innovative or creative solution in the community, demonstrated exceptions responsive to its customers’ and community needs. Nominees may be business in the East Bay, are in business entity in good standing and members of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce.

Business Leader of the Year
To recognize and honor a woman business owner who has enhanced the status of business, through there vision, perseverance and fearless leadership in business and the community.

Business Rookie of the Year
The Business Rookie of the Year honors a business or individual who has been in business less than 2 years, is a member of the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce and made sustained contributions to advance the economic growth in San Leandro. Nominees may be business owners, citizens, board members, or a member of the business community.
