City Meetings:
All meetings are open and include the opportunity
for public testimony. Commissions are subject
to cancellation due to lack of quorum or agenda
items. Council Work Sessions are held as
needed, generally on the Second & Fourth Mondays of
the month at 7:00 pm, in the Helen Lawrence South
Offices Conference Room.

The City Council also serves as members of the
following San Leandro authorities and agencies with
meetings held at the City Council meeting dates
noted: Economic Development Agency (meets as
needed); Hillside Geologic Hazard Abatement District
(meets as needed); Parking Authority (Third Monday
in June); Public Financing Authority (Third Monday
in May); Redevelopment Agency (First and Third
Monday).
The City Council also holds committee meetings
(Airport, Facilities, Rules and Communications,
Finance, Human Relations and Business Development).

Leandro City Council
Incorporated in 1872, San Leandro is a charter city
organized under a Mayor, Council, City Manager, form
of government. The City Council consists of six
Members from six districts and a Mayor. Council
Members are nominated by district and elected
at-large and the Mayor is nominated and elected
at-large. Each may serve a maximum of two
consecutive four-year terms. Elections are held in
June of even numbered years with run-off elections
held if necessary in November. All elected are
sworn-in at the first meeting of the following
January.
